About Me

Welcome! If you’ve made your way here, chances are you know who I am. If you’ve taken a wrong (right) turn, I’ve been writing about video games since 2010, but my love of the industry dates back to the days I sat waiting by the mailbox for mail-ordered game cartridges for my Texas Instruments 99-4/A.

Later, I convinced my parents that I’d probably die if I didn’t get a Nintendo Entertainment System. Since then, I’ve been permanently attached to gamepads, joysticks, mice, keyboards, and now, virtual reality.

I’m currently working on a “special project” for Bithell Games (Thomas was Alone, Volume, EarthShape). No, I won’t tell you what that project is. It’s a secret to everyone. Before this, I served as Game Informer’s news editor, but spent time as the managing editor of RipTen and the reviews editor and community Manager of ZTGD (the editorial arm of N4G).

And, because I’m often asked, the best game ever made is The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Don’t agree? 1v1 me, bro.

    Mr. Futter,
I saw from some of your articles on GameInformer that you’ve called out rare and interesting video games and props on eBay before, and thought you might be interested in showing an item I’m selling this week.

From what I can tell, it’s a one-of-a-kind BioShock Infinite SkyHook Replica Prototype that was sent out for inspection and forgotten about.

    The auction link is http://www.ebay.com/itm/BioShock-SkyHook-Prototype-One-of-a-kind-/151582935285?.

If I’ve reached out to you in error, feel free to ignore my email. However, if you do discuss it, please leave out my name and email address as I would rather not be bombarded with questions outside of the eBay app.
